Cottages to Castles was founded in 1997 as a family-owned and Islander-operated business by Judy and Sharon Michie, a mother-daughter team. Cottages to Castles prides itself that its inventory of property, while all unique and different from one another, are comparable in quality and caliber. You can rent our smallest, least expensive property or our largest, most expensive property -- they're all nice! Judy and her family have lived in southwest Florida since 1959, with Sharon being born here. They have seen the area grow and change over the years, but they still call it home! Judy has been a licensed Realtor on Sanibel since 1982. In 1990 she was awarded the Sanibel-Captiva Association of Realtors "Realtor of the Year" award - the only Rental Agent to have ever received this honor, and in 1992 she was inducted into the Honor Society of the Association. In 1993, she was the Rental Associate of the Year at The Prudential Florida Realty. She was also a recipient of the Chairman's Circle and President's Circle awards while at Prudential from 1993 - 1997. Sharon is also a licensed Realtor, and she has been active in rentals since her return to Sanibel in 1993. A graduate of Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, Sharon has applied the principles of her formal hotel experiences to Vacation Rental Property Management. Sharon has also been the recipient of the Chairman's Circle and President's Circle awards while at the Prudential Florida Realty from 1993 - 1997. Cottages to Castles matches contributions made by our guests and property owners to such worthy organizations as C.R.O.W. (Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife), The Harry Chapin Food Bank, and P.U.R.R.E. (People United to Restore our Rivers and Estuaries). We believe in supporting the people and wildlife that make our islands unique. Whether you are looking to visit our islands, or make a more "permanent" move, remember, "Before you buy an island home, rent one from Cottages to Castles! After you buy an island home, rent it through Cottages to Castles!"
