Hours are 7:45 am to 5:00 pm
Licenses are available to both Florida residents and non-residents.
Process takes 15-20 minutes.
Note: Downtown parking is Metered - bring coins!
When to apply: Licenses are issued immediately upon application and valid
for 60 days from date of issue.
Identification: Couple must appear together and must be 18 years old or
over. A Photo I.D. (such as a valid drivers license or passport) with signature is
required. If previously married, the date that the previous marriage ended is
required. If the previous marriage was dissolved within the past 6 months, a
certified copy of divorce or death certificate is required. If legal name differs
from name on your Photo I.D., then a birth certificate is required.
Blood Test: A blood test is not required in the State of Florida.
Waiting Period: There is no waiting period for
couples from out-of-state or from other countries. For Florida residents, there is
a three day waiting period or four hours of premarital counseling required.
Fee: Marriage license is currently $88.50** - Cash only.

From SW Florida Int'l Airport
take Daniels Parkway to I-75 and bear Right onto I-75 North. Exit at Dr. Martin
Luther King Blvd West toward Ft. Myers.
Continue on MLK Blvd. for several miles, then turn Right onto Monroe
Street. Turn Right on Second Street. The Lee County Administration Building is on
the left; the Marriage License Division is on the Second floor.

Exit the Sanibel Causeway - you are on Summerlin Road.
Continue on Summerlin Road and bear Right onto Boy
Scout Lane. Take Boy Scout Lane to U.S. 41. (get in one of the 2 Left Hand Turn
Lanes).
Bear Left (north) on U.S. 41. Continue until you see signs for Historic Downtown District
(Do not go over the overpass!.
Go Straight through the traffic light.
At the next Traffic Light, bear Right (the Justice Center is on the right, and the
Courthouse on your Left). At the next light (at the entrance to the Justice Center), turn
Left. The Lee County Administration Building is on your immediate Left. Go to the Second
Floor.

Luther King Blvd Exit. Bear Right on
Martin Luther King Blvd. and follow the
